Application of Value Stream Mapping in E-Commerce: A Case Study on an Amazon Retailer

In recent years, the e-commerce market has grown significantly, and online retail become very competitive. Online retailers strive to improve their supply chain operations reduce costs customer satisfaction. Value stream mapping (VSM), a tool created by lean production movement identify errors, losses, lead time value-added activities, been proven be effective in many manufacturing processes. this study, we investigate application of value (VSM) an retailer on Amazon. By visualizing entire with VSM, waste that is produced during delivery process from was identified. The five whys method then applied find root cause waste. Furthermore, scoring developed evaluate compare two different logistic models strategy for improvement. This study provides systematic methodology understand, evaluate, utilizing VSM. It demonstrated could management efficiency, satisfaction, cost reduction.
